![]() Have you tried the simple things? R click on one of the offending. The players just aren't being able to access them for some reason. I'm guessing it's something that'd deeply rooted in how Windows XP accesses video files that got screwed up and I don't know what it is or how it happened.īut like I said, if I open them up in some kind of video editor, it shows video just fine, so I know the codecs are working. If, however, I convert them with a standard converter to Mpg, they play just fine. All except WinAmp, which does nothing and just sits there. They all give some error message along the lines of it's an unrecognizable file, or codec, or something. It doesn't seem to matter whether the codec is DivX, XviD, or standard Microsoft Video, it's all the same. I've tried playing them in WinAmp, Windows Media Player, Real Player, QuickTime, and Creative player. ![]() ![]() It won't display the length and the file won't attempt to play. I can double click on the actual AVI files, it'll open up WinAmp or whichever, load it into the playlist, and then just sit there. Re: Video files will no longer play in WinAmp / WMP, etc.
